From the time he could put on a pair of chore boots and follow his dad and older brother around the farm, Craig Hiler had a passion for farming.
Craig and his brother, Keith, learned a lot from tagging along and spending time with their dad, Ralph Hiler. Those lessons would prove to be valuable.
Ralph died suddenly at the age of 51, leaving his two young sons, barely out of high school, in charge of the family farming operation.
Their mother, Darlene, left them the buildings and equipment they would need to get their start. She assured her children they were up to the challenge of continuing their father’s legacy.
More than thirty years later, with the support of friends, family, their church and their community, the Hiler boys’ hard work has paid off. Their original 600 acres has been transformed into a thriving family farming operation, making it possible for the next generation to make farming their livelihood as well.
